The Prizes |
1.1 |
Following
a public vote, the track selected by the music industry judges to
have the most commercial potential will be further assessed by EMI
as to its possible release online.

1.2 |
The winning
track will be the number one track together with nine runner up tracks
featured on a cd with copies distributed free of charge to the public
in major cities. |
1.3 |
If you
are unable to comply
with and meet these Terms and Conditions, we shall be entitled at
our discretion
to disqualify you. |
1.4 |
The judges’ decision on the winning track and
runner up tracks is final. |
1.5 |
We will not enter into any correspondence with entrants
about the judges’ decision apart from the performers of
the winning track and the runner up tracks. |
1.6 |
We reserve the right to cancel this competition at any stage. |

2 |
Entry |
2.1 |
Entry to the competition assumes you have read and agreed to the
Terms and Conditions and is only open to residents of the United Kingdom.
Overseas entries will not be considered. |
2.2 |
Entry
can be made between 1 April 2007 and 20 January 2008 and is
limited to one track per performer/group/DJ mixer. Any entry of more
than
one
track will be discounted. |

All tracks will be judged for selection each month to appear on the
website for public voting. |
2.4 |
Only
a maximum of 3 minutes of the submitted track will be made accessible
for the public vote on line. |
2.5 |
Any track considered obscene or offensive in any way will be discounted. |
2.6 |
You can also send brief information about yourself and one digital
photograph. CDs and photographs will not be returned. |
2.7 |
The track
must be in mpeg3 format and the profiles/photographs in appropriate
digital formats either attached to an email to music@musictrax.org
or alternatively on CD and posted to: Music TraX c/o Unit 1,
Moorfield Business Park, Yeadon, Leeds, LS19 7BN. Last date for
receipt of entries is 20 January 2008. (The Promoter cannot accept
responsibility for entries
lost, damaged, delayed or not received for whatsoever reason. Proof
of sending is not proof of receipt) |
2.8 |
By entering a track into the competition, you agree that streaming
of the track is copyright/royalty free. |
2.9 |
Your
track is entered on the basis that if selected by the judges’ and
public vote (see below) it will be made available for inclusion
on a Top Ten
CD and for a limited period
for further streaming
from the website on a copyright /royalty free basis. |
2.10 |
Entries are not permitted from any musicians who already have a recording
contract. |

3 |
Voting/judging |
3.1 |
The public
will vote on–line for their favourite
track from the selected tracks. |
3.2 |
At the
end of February 2008 the Top 10 most popular tracks from the
public vote will go forward to a final music industry judges’ vote
to select the track to have the most commercial potential and therefore
considered the overall winning track. The name of the track and artist
will be published on this website in February 2008. |

4 |
Data Protection |
4.1 |
The
performers of the winning track and runner up tracks will be contacted
by email in February 2008 |
4.2 |
The
winner(s) and runners up will be expected to take part in any publicity
events or printed/electronic publicity material as mutually
agreed. |
4.3 |
Profiles and photos of selected entrants may be featured in an
online music magazine associated with the competition. |
4.4 |
Information which is provided by you as an entrant will only
be used in order to administer the competition and as per 4.3 above. |
